Responsible for maintaining and repairing all dialysis machines, water treatment, and ancillary medical equipment in the assigned facility. Maintain a co-shared role with Facility Administrator as facility guardian. Perform electrical safety assurance and performance testing on all dialysis machines and related electrical equipment. Upgrade R.O water treatment systems to DaVita standards under the direction of the Group Biomedical Services Specialist, Area Biomedical Manager, or Group Biomedical Manager. Perform monthly biomedical audit and document findings to ensure that dialysis teammates are following company policies and procedures. Perform building safety inspections upon request. Participate in on-site ESRD surveys and inspections upon notification. Participate as a member of each facility’s FHR Committee meetings. Orders and maintains appropriate parts inventory for all equipment serviced. Discuss equipment maintenance problems with the ABM, GBM, and Facility Administrator. Make cost effective recommendations for improvements, monitors, and controls expenses for dialysis equipment in accordance with budgetary expectations. Trains other teammates on collection of water cultures and LALS to ensure water quality meets AAMI microbiological standards. Provides direction to lower-level colleagues. Provides instructions to dialysis teammates on the proper operation and utilization of dialysis equipment and systems, focusing primarily on equipment start-up, shutdown, and emergency situations. Leads facility and biomed implemented initiativesPosition requires a minimum of a high school, GED, or HS equivalency diploma and six months experience in healthcare environment. Incumbent must demonstrate a strong technical background in electronics, mechanical, or similar or complete a DaVita or similar internship program to become familiarize with dialysis equipment, R.O. water treatment systems, and related electrical equipment. Job located in Yonkers, NY, and any unanticipated locations throughout the United States. 40 hours per week; $41,434 to $51,418 per year.
