We are looking for a talented Branch Manager to assign and direct all work performed in the branch and to supervise all areas of operation. You will manage staff, foster a positive environment and ensure customer satisfaction and proper branch operation. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to the expansion and success of the business by implementing strategies that increase productivity and enable sales targets achievement.

Requirements

The Branch Manager is responsible for the operational and financial result of the branch with complete P&L responsibility. The major role is one of business leadership, both for the sales and operational organization. The main goals of the Branch Manager:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes, but not limited to:

  • Plans, develops and implements organization policies and goals.
  • Coordinates activities of the branch office which may include export, import and brokerage, planning, sales and maintenance to effect operational efficiency and economy. Also includes maintaining and overseeing warehouse facilities and compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Directs and coordinates promotion of products and services, to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.
  • Analyzes branch budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made, and allocates operating budget. Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required.
  • Directs preparation of directives to employees outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented.
  • Promotes organization in industry or trade associations.
  • Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures such as personnel, information management, filing systems, requisition of supplies, and other clerical services.
  • Maximizes office productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications.
  • Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
  • Analyze data to monitor performances and plan improvements in delivery performance
  • Evaluate logistical problems and create new solutions
  • Establishes uniform correspondence procedures and style practices.
  • Formulates procedures for systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records.
  • Plans office layout, develops office budget, and initiates cost reduction programs.
  • Reviews clerical and personnel records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Prepares activity reports for guidance of management.
  • Monitors accounts receivable and aggressively works to collect overdue amounts.
  • Maintains contact with customers and outside vendors.
  • Directs activities of workers engaged in assigning tariff classifications according to type and weight of freight or merchandise; routing and scheduling shipment by air, rail, or truck; and preparing billings from tariff and classification manuals.
  • Reviews documents to ensure that assigned classifications and tariffs are in accordance with mode of transportation and destination of shipment.
  • Oversee investigation of shipper or consignee complaints regarding lost or damaged merchandise or shortages in shipment to determine responsibility.
  • Directs preparation of claims against carrier responsible and corresponds with shipper or consignee to effect settlement.
  • Schedules shipments to ensure compliance with interstate traffic laws and regulations and company policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 2-10 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Four to ten years related experience and/or training. Advanced education a plus

Must have P&L Experience

Must have Freight Forwarding Experience

Must have management experience

Must be fluent in spanish
