Full Job Description

This is your chance to make a career at a fast-growing aerospace and defense solutions provider in Milwaukee, WI. The team is focused on solving our customers supply chain, logistics, sourcing, and aircraft fleet support challenges through innovation, strategic partnerships, and focus.

The successful candidate will have 2 years experience purchasing aviation/military parts, or has 4-5 years of purchasing experience in another industry.

The Buyer is responsible for both sourcing/purchasing parts and services, managing purchase orders while simultaneously negotiating various agreements, and creating roadmaps to optimize the performance of the Sourcing/Purchasing Department.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports sourcing in negotiations of aircraft parts, equipment, tools, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for the operations of an aerospace organization.
  • Creates/manages purchase orders while simultaneously negotiating various agreements.
  • Collaborates with numerous cross-functional disciplines in the organization: Sales, Program Management/Contracts, Finance, and Compliance/Legal.
  • Supports evaluations for new or creative approaches, strategies, and processes to address business needs.
  • Additional projects and duties as required.

Requirements

Required Education/Experience

  • REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • REQUIRED: 2-5 years of purchasing experience.
  • REQUIRED: As it pertains to sourcing, has the basic ability to interpret and learn technical data (drawings/blueprints) and quality requirements/qualified parts lists.
  • REQUIRED: Must have familiarity with RFQs/RFPs, reviewing and negotiating terms/conditions, and determining the best value source selection.
  • REQUIRED: Proficiency with computers, Microsoft applications, and ability to type at least 40 WPM.

  • Strong time management skills and decision making.
  • Ability to work autonomously or with a team.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • PREFERRED: Bachelors or Associates Degree.
  • PREFERRED: Above average Microsoft Excel skills.
  • PREFERRED: 5 Years of Aviation Procurement Experience or hands-on aircraft technician experience.
