CMM Quality Inspector 2nd & 3rd shift

Our manufacturing client is looking to add a CMM Quality Inspector to their team in the Waterloo, Iowa area.  Multiple opening on 2nd & 3rd shift.  This Inspector is responsible for inspection of parts utilizing CMM’s, height gauges and other gauges in the Inspection room and shop floor.

Must Have:

• Associate’s degree preferred.


• 3+ years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Experience with CMM is required!

Key Responsibilities:

• The Inspector analyzes inspection problems by comparing part with blueprints or sketches, and devises procedures necessary to measure specified dimensions.


• Verifies dimensions by laying out parts on surface plate or CMM or positions in gauging setup.


• Ensures parts are meeting necessary requirements by testing surface finish of machined parts and the hardness of metal parts.


• Analyzes defective parts to determine reasons for dimensional variations such as faulty machining, or assembly procedures, setup, tools, or fixtures.


• Recommends corrective procedures to design, methods, process, or production engineering departs.


• Inspects machining or assembly fixtures, tools, or gauges, and suggests replacement or use of new equipment.


• Guides subsequent machining by measuring, marking, and scribing dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece.
