Job Description
CNC Machine Operator Responsibilities (included but not limited to)
- Preparing and operating CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling.
- Start up and shut down a variety of machines following established company procedures and safety guidelines
- Sets up and operates computer numerically controlled lathes and grinders
- Understanding specifications of the task and the desired result by reading blueprints or mechanical drawings
- Mounts work piece in chuck or face plate, manually or using hoist or cranes
- Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce desired result
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
- Maintain a clean and safe environment. Steel toed shoes and ANSI approved safety glasses with side shields must be worn
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
- High school diploma or GED; Certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools, ie; calipers, micrometers,gauges
- A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and push, pull, lift, climb, bend, stoop or squat as needed to perform job duties
- Previous CNC or manufacturing experience helpful but not necessary
Starting pay will be determined on qualifications, interview process and any related experience. Majority of no experience candidates will start as temporary employees then be converted to permanent employees once they prove they can do the job, usually 3-6 months. Exceptions will be considered for more experienced candidates.
Majority of openings are for 2nd (3-11) and 3rd (11-7) shift
