Allied is currently looking for an individual to set-up and operate the Tool & Cutter Grinder machining center, to manufacture cutting tools to produce AMEC finish products.

Requirements

• Set-up and operate the following tooling machines:

CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder machining center

Gun drill grinder

Cut off saw

Honing machine

Manual grinders

• Establish wheel packs
• True and dress wheels
• Complete inspection of all tooling items using Zoller, Optical comparator, Micrometers, Depth micrometers, Calipers, Scale, Surface plate and Height Stand
• Gun drill grinding, cut off saw, manual grinding flat and clearances
• Program new and reground cutting tools

Quallifications:

• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Preferred completion of two years of machining school or on the job experience.

Experience:

• One year of previous grinding experience preferred, either inside or outside of AMEC.
• Experience with inspection tools like using optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, depth mics, gauge pins and visual camera.

Skills:

• Blueprint reading, in depth preferred.
• Programming function knowledge preferred
• Team working skills
• Problem solving or trouble shooting
• Initiative-taking
• Organizational

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to lift 32lbs.
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers, indicators, scales and other inspection equipment.
• Follow schedules.
• On your feet for the majority of your shift.
