CPR Instructor & Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor

*Preferably a current Health & Safety Institute (HSI) for CPR/AED & First Aid and/or BLS. American Heart or Red Cross also ok!

POSITION SUMMARY:

As an instructor with Get CPR Done (GCD), you will teach classes in a variety of settings including; schools, offices, clinics, and hospitals. The majority of our clients are educators, so a focus on Infant and Child CPR and Pediatric First Aid is of profound importance. Classes may range from CPR/AED & First Aid, CPR/AED Only, First Aid Only to Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers / Medical Professionals. We welcome Health and Safety Institute, American Heart Association and American Red Cross instructors!

Instructors are responsible for providing high quality, superior instruction, generating necessary reports and documentation, as well as managing/cleaning equipment in their possession or under their delegated responsibility. Instructors will be provided with access to class equipment and mannequins for the entire duration of employment. If you have your own equipment, it must be in working condition, clean and presentable for our clients. Your equipment is a representation of yourself and our organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a valid: CPR/AED & First Aid and/or BLS Instructor certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) (highly desirable, but not required)
  • Must be willing to travel in your local area
  • Be proficient in all basic First Aid and CPR/BLS skills
  • Classroom/Educational setting experience a plus
  • Ability to communicate course material in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Be comfortable teaching in small and large classes settings (with support for larger classes)
  • Must meet physical requirements to instruct class
  • Flexible schedule: opportunities available during days, evenings, and weekends

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Access to phone, internet and email.
  • Arrive 45 minutes prior to start of class for set-up
  • Present a professional attitude and provide excellent customer service. Course evaluations will be provided to clients following classes.
  • Present an professional appearance in accordance with hygiene and uniform standards as outlined in company policy.
  • Maintain thorough familiarity with treatment protocols and company policy.
  • May be required to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds.
  • Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.
  • Additional administrative work and time may be needed (process class rosters, etc.)

Hands-on teaching with a possibility of two to three days a week of work. Additional work opportunities are possible.

During the interview process, applicants should be prepared to teach or speak to a section of CPR/AED and/or First Aid material.

Compensation: $33.50/hr starting

Job Location: Opportunity for some travel to other areas, Duties are primarily in your local area. Job Type: Part-time / On-Call
