Shift Details: 7a-7:30 pm
Located in the heart of Atlanta, hospital is a community-based, acute care teaching facility with more than 1,000 physicians spanning 28 specialties. Since 1908, the hospital has served Atlanta residents and patients from all over the Southeast. Today, the hospital is recognized nationally for its work in cardiology and heart-related diseases, as well as reconstructive surgery, maternal and infant care, orthopedics and gastrointestinal diseases. In addition to providing leading-edge medical care, hospital is becoming a local leader in sustainability by improving the energy efficiency of its facilities.
Hospital has more than 531 beds, including 86 ICU beds, a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and four hyperbaric oxygen units.
Position Summary:
Telemetry nurses review data from special equipment to track a patient's heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and other vitals. They also carry out more traditional nursing duties such as administering medications and communicating with patients regarding their condition.
Qualifications:
- BLS certification required and ACLS may be required in designated departments.
- At least 24 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years in acute care hospital setting.
- 5 years of acute care nursing; preferably with progressive cardiology experience.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
Additional Information:
Cardiology Telemetry – 38 beds
· Cardiology is part of critical care team, but falls under Zone 2
· Cardiac step-down: cardioversions, pre/post pacemaker, ICD implant/explant, heart failure, etc.
· PCCN or National Certification.
· New hires take EKG, dysrhythmia and heart failure and device therapy course as part of orientation
