Position Overview:



Summit Expedited Logistics is seeking a Carrier Procurement Supervisor to enhance our current carrier base to ensure we are using their capabilities to the fullest to satisfy our clients logistics needs.



What You Will Be Doing Day-to-Day:

• Responsible for carrier prospecting, management, negotiations and relations leading to a strong carrier partnership


• Strong working knowledge of the partner carriers daily capacity and network


• Ability to learn brokerage pricing techniques and tools to effectively secure capacity at optimal rates


• Review and negotiate all contracts


• Ability to find and develop new carrier partnerships that meet the needs of our customer base


• Assist in the transition process from a targeted vendor into an active carrier


• Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements


• All other duties that deem necessary

• Bachelors degree preferred


• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in transportation/logistics or procurement role


• Carrier management experience preferred


• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization supporting sales and operations.


• Basic financial math skills


• Ability to willingly make timely decisions and exhibit sound and accurate judgment.


• Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency


• Ability to navigate within Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word & Excel


• Ability work and adapt in a high volume, fast paced work environment
