Scope

As a Cashier, you will be responsible for playing a strong supporting role in the creation of a polished yet unpretentious dining experience; one which will be savored long after the last bite is a memory.

Primary Job Duties

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

• Provide exceptional service.
• Maintain professional grooming and appearance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• All requests are promptly fulfilled in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Receive payment from food servers and perform all cashier duties.
• Reviews the items ordered for accuracy.
• Maintains control over checks issued.
• Operates cash register and properly settles checks, pays out tips to service personnel, completes the Food & Beverage requisition procedure.
• Adhere to established cash control policies and procedures.
• Responsible for complying with Title 26 policies and procedures.
• Handle cash and cash transactions accurately to protect the assets of the company.
• Operate as a member of a team: help others and request help as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least one year experience as a cashier in a high volume restaurant.
• At least one year previous cash handling, customer service experience

• A highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
• Effectively assist with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Polished appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
• Must have valid work authorization for the US
• At least 21 years of age.

Preferred:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a large, luxury resort setting.

• Work is performed in high volume professional foodservice environment
• Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination including flashing lights and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
• Constant contact with executives, department management, applicants, employees and guests is necessary.
• Prolonged standing and mobility.
• Bending and reaching.
• Transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 10 lbs.
• Eye/hand coordination.
• Use of standard office equipment.
• Basic math.
• The ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
• Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
