Hourly Rate: $68 W2; $78 CTC/1099

Job Description:

Divisions throughout the Department of Children and Families frequently request or identify a need related to assistance on time-limited projects. These projects range from short-term lifts to limited longer-term assistance on high-priority initiatives, for which project management services cannot be quickly or easily contracted/obtained. This position will also assist in the creation and maintenance of internal resources for project managers, as well as provide technical assistance for other project managers throughout the Department. Oversight of this project manager will be conducted by the BPM Business Project Management Office (BPMO) Director and Portfolio Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Designing, planning, and coordinating of work teams.

Identify the overall scope of projects while also documenting risks and developing mitigation plans to successfully manage all identified risks.

Work closely with project sponsors to understand business and technical objectives.

Develop communication plans around individual projects determined and prioritized based on Division and Department needs.

Utilizing project management industry standards to manage project activities, such as creating project charters, work plans, track budgets, schedule projects via appropriate metrics, establish project organization and methodologies, set and define roles and responsibilities, manage scope, document risks, development mitigation plans, and set timelines to monitor project progress, communicate with stakeholders, and identify/remove barriers to ensure issue resolution, etc.

Develop internal, Department-wide resources for other project managers and staff to utilize.

Provide technical assistance as applicable to other project managers throughout the Department.

Required Skills:

  • Project Management (5 years)
  • Development of Project Artifacts (plan, charter, status reports, etc.) (5 years)
  • Prepare Written Reports (5 years)
  • Strong Communication Skills (5 years)
  • MS Project or equivalent (5 years)

Certified Project Manager Project Management, Developing Project Artifacts, MS Project
