Our chassis mechanics have an ample knowledge in steel welding and all its relevant components. As the Chassis Mechanic, you will be responsible for the assembly of the Stripe Hog Waterblasting Systems, which pertain to the Chassis of the Stipe Hog Waterblasting Systems. Chassis Mechanic may be assigned to a specific component during the process of the assembly of the Stripe Hog Waterblasting system based on their experience and knowledge.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Follow instructions given by the shop lead and follow production or service orders
  • Assemble parts and fittings into sub-assemblies and install using air, electric and hand tools.
  • Read illustrations, diagrams or schematics to determine how to assemble components.
  • Measure and mark dimensions of parts to ensure a tight fit and a quality product.
  • Adjust, repair, and re-work parts and assemblies to ensure proper operation.
  • Perform quality checks on assembled parts
  • Maintain company equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Attention to continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Follow all company and OSHA Safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned my team lead and or production supervisor

Requirements

***This is an On-site, not a Remote job.***

Qualifications/Experience:
Follow instructions/Blueprints/production orders.
Experience building equipment/machines from scratch.
Extensive MIG welding experience, including building custom brackets..
Maintain company equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Follow all company and OSHA Safety regulations.
Must be an energetic self starter and have a strong sense of urgency; and capable of following tasks through to completion.

Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
Vocational/Trade School mechanic training or certification preferred.
Experience as Medium or Heavy Truck Mechanic.
Strong MIG welding skills preferred, to include but not limited to building custom brackets.
Experience measuring/ordering drive shafts preferred.
Skilled in using power and air tools.

Must own, and be comfortable using, typical shop tools to assemble a variety of components.

Other Important Information:

Supervisory Responsibility - This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment - This job operates in a shop environment where tools and other machinery are used.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. However, this schedule may vary based on the needs of the shop and as assigned by the production supervisor which will change as required based on job duties demand.

Travel -This position may require travel from time to time for a variety of reasons, a valid Florida Driver's license is required.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications - Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
