Curative Executive Search and Alameda Health System (AHS) are collaborating to find a Chief of Geriatrics in Oakland, California, who will oversee medical services in the Department of Medicine, managing geriatric clinical care across AHS's acute care and outpatient sites. This role involves building the Geriatrics Division, setting staffing, service scope, and standards, especially for trauma care. Collaboration with Department Chairs, medical staff, and community healthcare groups ensures quality geriatric services, offering a chance for geriatricians to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, collaborative environment focused on providing healthcare to vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities:
Manage geriatric clinical services at AHS's three acute care sites and outpatient ambulatory sites, including:
Highland, Alameda & San Leandro Hospitals.
Build Geriatrics Division from scratch, determining:
Staffing recruitment and requirements
Team service scope
Trauma care standards
Collaborate with Department Chairs, medical staff leadership, and community healthcare organizations to ensure timely, quality geriatric care access.
Contribute significantly to vital services for aging patients and families as a geriatrician in a collaborative, supportive healthcare environment.
Job Requirements:
Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO), ACGME-accredited residency in Internal Medicine, formal ACGME-accredited Geriatric Medicine fellowship.
Licensure: California medical licensure, Board Certification by ABMS or AOA-approved specialty board.
Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of healthcare leadership experience, adept at change management, physician leadership, and clinical program development. Preferred experience in quality and patient safety.
