We are now seeking qualified Childcare Assistant Teachers for age groups ranging from (6 weeks - 6 years of age) to add to our growing team at a beautiful state-of-the-art childcare and preschool center in Strongsville, Ohio.

Assistant Teacher

Job Summary

As a Childcare Assistant Teacher, you will be an essential member of a team of qualified teachers who are talented, fun, and genuinely enthusiastic about child development and learning. You must be comfortable working with groups of children ranging from (6 weeks - 6 years of age). All Around Children encourages collaboration, cherishes open communication, and creates an outstanding work-life balance by supporting teachers every step of the way.


Duties / Responsibilities

  • Provide support for the Lead Teacher with any responsibilities and duties.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with lead teachers and other team members to deliver high-quality services.
  • Facilitate and observe all classroom activities, providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children in the care of All Around Children.
  • Ensure children have proper supervision at all times.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational and recreational activities that help children develop their physical, emotional, social, and intellectual capabilities.
  • Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are sanitized and kept clean.
  • Greeting parents and addressing children by their name.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other program activities as required.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and maintain up-to-date knowledge of early childhood education.


Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience in early childhood education preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass a background check and provide references upon request.
  • Must be dependable and maintain a good work record as to punctuality and daily attendance.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stand, and sit on the floor or on child-sized furniture for prolonged periods of time.
  • Extended periods of time sitting on the floor.
  • Ability to lift and/or move a child repetitively weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in a moderate to noisy work environment.
  • Ability to assist children in an emergency situation.
  • Climb and descend 1 to 2 flights of stairs (while helping children safely navigate steps).
  • Able to meet the physical demands staying in proximity of children to be within arm's reach.
  • Participate in safety drills by following the established guideline which includes moving children from one location to another.
  • Withstand outdoor temperatures and condition for extended periods of time during all seasons.
