The Children's Emergency Shelter (CES) Manager is responsible for day to day operation of the CES and supervises the CES staff. The CES Manager represents the CES in its contact with chlid welfare agencies, parents, officials, and the general public.

Qualifications:

1) Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in social work preferred, plus 2 yr experience working in the field.

2) Supervisory and administrative experience preferred.

3) Must meet all requirements for child care staff as set forth in the minimum standards for basic care facility qualification by regulatory agencies.

4) Must possess computer skills.

5) Child Care Administrator License preferred but not required.

6) Must pass a criminal background check and must submit to drug testing.

7) Must possess a valid drivers license.

8) Must be able to lift 40 lbs and climb stairs.

Responsibilities:

1) Obtain a minimum of 50 hours per year of applicable continuing education (as required by licensing).

2) Supervises the day to day operation of the CES.

3) Maintain detailed records of the shelter's operations.

4) Screens applicants for appropriateness of placement.

5) Reviews all CES generated daily progress notes, incident reports, scheduling and training.

6) Coordinates with staff to ensure effective case management in the implementation of each child's plan.

7) Ensures CES is in compliance with standards and level of care requirements.

8) Assists the Executive Director in interviewing and hiring direct care staff.

9) On call 24/7 to provide direct intervention in case of CES emergencies.

10) Represents the CES as the contact person for child welfare agencies, parents, officials, and members of the general public.
