Chronicle Books is looking for an SF or NY-based Childrens Marketing Manager to work with the Childrens Marketing Director to provide overall strategic direction for Chronicle Books Childrens Marketing Department. This role is responsible for creating and implementing marketing plans and digital strategy, increasing profitability, enhancing our visibility in the marketplace, and making Chronicle Books a leader in Childrens publishing. The Childrens Marketing Manager will also work closely and effectively with the Childrens Pub Group to develop the list, communicate with sales, and provide marketing expertise throughout the publication process. This role will require someone with the understanding of how to segment our audience based on consumer behavior, while also having the ability to develop marketing plans that include promotional materials, digital strategy, social media advertising and messaging, along with influencer outreach and partnerships. The Marketing Manager will develop, create, and execute marketing plans and materials that are creative, revenue enhancing, and reflective of both title and house. They will work with our Brand department to oversee design and production of marketing materials, they will oversee the successful implementation of all trade and consumer advertising, and they will work closely with authors to communicate marketing and publicity plans. With the Childrens Marketing Coordinator, they will strategize and execute frontlist Amazon A+ Pages, review backend keywords and consumer copy, partner with the Social Media Manager to oversee social media campaigns and work with authors and talent to build out their online presence. Developing brand partnerships for the Childrens category and instigating an effective strategy around the Childrens Instapages will also be part of this position, along with tracking the Childrens marketing budget and communicating updates on Marketing & Publicity plans. RequirementsCandidates will need a minimum of 4 years of marketing and/or digital marketing experience in book publishing or a related field. They should have a strong understanding of the publishing landscape, competition, and current online strategies and best practices. They should be organized, and detail oriented with an ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of the company and outside agencies. Multiple projects and deadlines will need to be met simultaneously, and the Marketing Manager will need to work both independently and as part of a team. Lastly, they will need exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Airtable, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Photoshop is a plus, and there will be some travel for work. Employees at Chronicle Books follow a flexible hybrid schedule of working a minimum of 2 days per week and up to 4 days per week in our San Francisco or New York City office, depending on project and business needs. Please note that this job description is not designed to cover all activities required of the employee. Hiring Salary Range: $68,000 - $78,200. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to: applicants education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for our profit share plan.
