General Description
Performs Civil 3D and drafting work. Work involves daily assistance to management and staff. Works under moderate supervision.
Examples of Work Performed
- Generating plans, sections and details using Civil3D from sketches and/or by verbal instructions.
- Transform survey information, initial sketches, and concept designs using Civil3D into construction plans, generally including:
- Existing Conditions
- Dimensioned Site Plan
- Site Grading & Drainage Plans
- Site Utility Plans
- Roadway Plan and Profile Drawings
- Detailed Street Intersection Designs
- Utility Plan and Profile Drawings
- Drainage and Hydraulic Structure Design and Details
- Work with engineer to modify plans from mark-ups and design revisions.
- Coordinate design with Architects and other engineering consultants.
- Revise plans according to client, manager, or agency reviewer comments and redlines.
- Provide CAD drafting and design support for plan sets, exhibits, details and other drawings.
- Organize layout and coordinate drafted documents.
- Self-Review performed work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to manager.
- Work closely with project manager to determine if scope of work/budgets need to be revised.
- Perform non-routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions under minimum supervision.
- Assist in organizing, creating, and maintaining all CAD or CAD related files for clients.
Requirements
Experience and Education
An Associate Degree or equivalent Certificate for AutoCAD/Civil3D preferred;
Bachelor's Degree welcomed. Minimum of one (1) year experience in Civil3D including creating surfaces, road profiles, grading, earthwork computation, pipe networks and profiles; land development industry experience strongly preferred. Experience utilizing Microsoft Office 365 programs and ArcGIS.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
Ability to interpret engineering documents and research requirements and standard details.
Self-starter with driven personality having a focus on quality and excellence in work product.
