Job Overview:

The Civil Engineer at Jesus Calls will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and construction of a new prayer tower building. This position requires a qualified and experienced civil engineer with expertise in structural design, construction management, and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for the construction of the new prayer tower building, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
2. Design Development: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to develop detailed design plans and specifications for the new building, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety requirements.
3. Construction Management: Oversee all aspects of the construction process, including site preparation, foundation work, structural framing, MEP installations, interior finishes, and landscaping, to ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to project schedules and budgets.
4. Contractor Management: Select, hire, and manage external contractors, subcontractors, and vendors involved in the construction project, ensuring that they meet performance standards, comply with contractual agreements, and deliver work according to specifications and deadlines.
5. Quality Control and Assurance: Implement quality control measures and inspection procedures to monitor construction progress, identify any defects or deviations from plans, and ensure that workmanship and materials meet quality standards and specifications.
6. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards at the construction site, implementing appropriate safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any safety hazards or concerns promptly.
7. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with internal stakeholders, including project managers, senior leadership, and other departments, providing regular updates on project progress, milestones, and any potential issues or challenges.
8. Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local authorities and regulatory agencies for the construction project, ensuring compliance with zoning regulations, building codes, environmental standards, and other legal requirements.
9. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of project documentation, including contracts, plans, permits, change orders, and progress reports, and provide timely reporting to stakeholders on project status, milestones, and key performance indicators.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on construction management and project coordination.
• Proven experience in managing construction projects from conception to completion, preferably in the construction of commercial or institutional buildings.
• Strong knowledge of construction principles, practices, and techniques, including structural design, building materials, and construction methods.
• Proficiency in construction management software, project management tools, and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
