Roadway - Civil Design Engineer (EIT or PE) - Orlando, Florida - United States- 26326
We are seeking a Roadway Civil Design Engineer. The successful candidate will become part of the Orlando office of a diverse group of more than 200 people working in 25 offices around the United States. This is an established practice built on our expertise in roundabouts, traffic design, complete streets, Project Development and Environment studies (PD&E), and Plans, Specifications & Estimate preparation (PS&E). This position will involve working alongside nationally known experts in each of these fields who will provide mentorship and guidance for this growth opportunity.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
Provide design support for more senior engineers and planners. Responsible to develop designs for projects at a variety of different stages (concept through completion), writing technical reports, and willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed. These could include geometric design input into planning studies, support in developing detailed concepts, preliminary designs during corridor studies and PD&E studies, and development of final design drawings. Mentoring and support from the team to ensure success will be provided.
Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of experience in roadway design and transportation engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Minimum EIT, PE preferred
- General design skills to include some geometric design, vertical, roadway lighting design, and horizontal design
- Experience in preparing plans, specifications, and estimates
- Strong background in MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Strong interest in geometric design
- Interest in roundabout and complete streets design
Desired Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Some Traffic Engineering experience: signal design, signing and marking design.
- Desire to learn and constantly improve professionally and personally
- Self-starter attitude with a desire to take on additional responsibility
- Ability to teach and mentor other staff
- Commitment to delivering excellence
