Civil/Structural Engineer - Industrial - Akron, Ohio - JOB 440-24-00234

Salary Range: $55K - $85K Permanent Position with Benefits.

A growing A&E consulting firm in Akron is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer. Key responsibility is to prepare designs in compliance with engineering design, applicable codes, constructability, industry standards, completeness and presentation.

Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Must be willing to obtain a Professional Engineer license.
• Up to Eight (8) years of direct experience as a Civil/Structural Engineer.
• Must be proficient using STAAD, AutoCAD and other engineering software.
• Knowledge of Revit, Civil 3D and other drafting software is helpful but not required.
• Knowledge of building codes as they relate to civil/structural design.
• Experience designing of steel structures, foundations, masonry, and concrete.
• Experience with the design of load-bearing structures or structural elements. (Buildings, platforms, or pipe racks.
• Experience developing blueprints or specifications for bid and/or construction packages.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Must have strong communication skills (written & verbal
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experineced
• Occasional overnight domestic travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare reports summarizing findings on structural analyses, as assigned.
• Prepare designs in compliance with engineering design, applicable codes, constructability, industry standards, completeness, and presentation.
• Review structural steel shop drawings, concrete submittals and other equipment or material submittals to verify compatibility to project design parameters.
• Review and respond to contractor Requests for Information (RFI), as assigned.
• Interface with the client and other engineering disciplines as required to develop Civil/Structural designs and documents effectively and efficiently.
