Navarro is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clean Energy Program Planner to support the Department of Energy Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations.

Navarro Research & Engineering is an award-winning federal contractor dedicated to partnering with our clients to overcome their most challenging environmental, technical, and infrastructure missions within the nuclear and environmental industries. Joining Navarro means being a part of an exceptional team committed to quality and safety while also looking for innovative strategies to create value for the clients success. Headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Navarro has active programs in place across the nation for DOE/NNSA, NASA, and the Department of Defense

The Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) was established in December 2021 as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to accelerate clean energy technologies from the lab to market and fill a critical innovation gap on the path to achieving our nations climate goals of net zero emissions by 2050.

OCEDs mission is to deliver clean energy demonstration projects at scale in partnership with the private sector to accelerate deployment, market adoption, and the equitable transition to a decarbonized energy system.

This position will support the Strategy and Program Development Office, part of the Portfolio Strategy Division.

Expected responsibilities include:

  • Support OCEDs leadership to advance the Offices mission and programs.
  • Advise on planning, design, and development of funding programs (financial assistance, prizes, partnership intermediary agreements, work with National Laboratories) to address systemic barriers and to create a robust ecosystem around the clean energy demonstration projects funded by OCED.
  • Support planning informational workshops, organizing merit reviews, briefing selection officials, and collaborating with Federal officials on program planning and management, as necessary.
  • Support monitoring and evaluating technology area project portfolios to assure program and individual project performance goals are met.
  • Assist the government team with synthesizing information flowing from internal and external stakeholders, supporting decision-making, and ensuring execution of directives at Federal offices, National Laboratories, and industry partnership organizations.

Requirements

  • Master of Science (MS) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.
  • Technical expertise in clean energy technologies.
  • Experience with small businesses / start-ups / incubators / accelerators.
  • Experience in technology transfer and commercialization.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in conducting risk versus payoff assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and innovation skills

Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
