CLINICAL DIRECTOR




  • Reporting To Chief Executive Officer and California Rehab Campus, LLC Members



 



Job Summary:




  • The Clinical Director's principal function is to lead a team of compassionate staff to care for individuals suffering from addiction and/or co-occuring disorders.

  • The Clinical Director oversees, assigns, coordinates, and assists staff in providing scientifically based counseling services to clients.



 



Minimum Qualifications:




  • Licensed in good standing with a professional license issued by a State Licensing Board and/or Certified in the state of California as an SUD counselor recognized by the state of California Department of Health Care Services Licensing and Certification Division with a minimum of two years of successful certification and in good standing.

  • Knowledge of health information related to adult health and mental health, including cooccurring conditions. 

  • Good clinical understanding of substance use disorder, adult mental health, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. 

  • Cultural sensitivity and desire to work with an ethnically diverse adult population.

  • Work as a team member with fellow coᅵᅵᅵworkers and agency staff.

  • Maintain networking relationship with community service providers.

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a DHCS licensed substance abuse residential program required.

  • Masters Level Degree in Psychology.



 



Position Summary:




  • Responsibilities are multifaceted and includes meeting of clinical benchmarks for quality care and productivity, ensuring proper care is being provided in accordance with program guidelines, developing and providing ongoing clinical and administrative staff development and program planning.

  • The Clinical Director collaborates with licensed and nonlicensed direct clinical service staff and consultants in the administration of services in low, moderate, and high acuity patients and participants. The position requires cooperation with the participants’ independent primary care and/or psychiatric providers, in an effort to coordinate care for the effective treatment of complex and multiple diagnosis.

  • Effective at developing master treatment plans and discharge planning to ensure positive treatment outcomes.



 



Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Work in collaboration with the administrative director, program director, detox coordinator and intake coordinator/utilization review coordinator to develop and implement behavioral health quality assurance processes in compliance with all Federal, state, county, and funder requirements.

  • Teach and participate in professional training.

  • Plan, organize, and conduct research, data analysis, and program evaluation.

  • Evaluate and conduct assessment on treatment procedures. 

  • Communicate effectively. 

  • Provide professional consultation and leadership.

  • Recognize situations requiring the creative application of technical skills.

  • Development of Substance Abuse and Health Education materials to the program staff through group training or to individual staff, as directed.

  • Oversee program director, detox coordinator and counselors and other program personnel as necessary in treatment protocols, diagnostic and biopsychosocial assessment, interpretation, and formulation.

  • Train staff on clinical intervention strategies, treatment planning and screenings as necessary for excellent service delivery standard.

  • Also train other program personnel as necessary in protocols, assessment methods, interpretations and participant intervention strategies for patients.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding privileged administrative and participant information in a professional manner. 

  • Ability to demonstrate consistent professionalism in the execution of performing the duties and responsibilities of this position. 

  • Ability to manage and supervise staff or workers. 

  • Assigns caseloads and related duties, and coordinates activities of staff in providing counseling services to assist clients. 

  • Assists agency staff members through individual and group conferences in analyzing case problems and in improving their diagnostic and helping skills 

  • Reviews case records, evaluates performance of staff members, and recommends indicated action. 

  • Participates in developing and implementing section policy

  • Assist in the development of staff competencies

  • Carries a small caseload to counsel clients individually or in groups on planned or experimental basis and in emergencies 

  • Works with Program Managers and staff to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate prevention and educational activities 

  • Trains new employees in areas such as agency policy, section procedures, and the Sigmund electronic health record system. 

  • Provides direction to staff in areas such as new policies, procedures, regulations, and new therapeutic modalities, including traditional healing activities 

  • Represents agency in community or in interagency activities

  • Conducts or directs staff development programs

  • Attends department meetings and other meetings as assigned

  • Maintain 24-hour on-call availability and manage on-call staffing schedule

  • Adheres to accreditation and compliance standards/guidelines

  • Maintains a professional, organized, clean working environment by following organizational policies, guidelines, and safety standards 

  • Assists in development of departmental policy, procedures, and quality improvement activities within the clinic as directed

License and/or Certifications:




  • Licensed by the State of California in counseling 

  • Experience 5 years

  • Experience in a substance abuse and psychiatric treatment setting 

  • At least 2-3 years supervisory experience

  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws.
