Job Description:
Roles within the Cloud DevOps Engineering Job Family specialize in building and managing scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions to improve service deliverability and platform experience. Responsibilities span across several key areas:
- Infrastructure Automation: Develop scripts and tools for automating cloud resources and cluster/container configurations, aligning with Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD): Design, optimize, and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline code delivery and updates.
- Collaboration and Communication: Act as a liaison between Software Development, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams to foster a culture of rapid iteration and responsiveness.
- Site Reliability: Implement tools to support Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles such as availability, latency, and performance monitoring to ensure system robustness.
- Monitoring and Metrics: Support and enhance tools for system monitoring and data collection to inform decision-making and maintain high levels of service availability.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that infrastructure is configured according to industry security standards and comply with relevant regulations.
Management Level Description: Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer
A Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer is responsible for several key areas within the infrastructure landscape:
- Architectural Guidance: Contribute to infrastructure design, aiding in the overall direction of the organization's technical implementations primarily through contribution to shared libraries and modules.
- AWS Resource Management: Manage and optimize cloud resources, focusing on cost-effectiveness, performance, and security.
- Infrastructure as Code: Participate in designing, developing, and maintaining Infrastructure as Code, to facilitate quick and reliable changes in the production environment.
- System Reliability: Implement tools to support Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices, including performance tuning and incident management.
- On-Call Duties: Participate in on-call rotations, focusing on maintaining system reliability and uptime.
- The role aims to ensure that DevOps best practices are maintained in interactions with stakeholders while also contributing directly to the development of strategic objectives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Typically, 8+ years' experience.
