This position is located at Harrison County Coal Resources in Wallace, WV. We are seeking hard working, motivated individuals for an experienced level mining position and is assigned to the underground mining operations.

Position will provide work directly to the safe operation of mining equipment, maintenance of equipment, and general labor support for all underground operations. Primary responsibility is to provide general labor as assigned by the supervisor.

Pay Type: Hourly

Pay Range: $30.848-$31.915/hour

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mine
  • Must be able to safely operate underground mining equipment
  • Must ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible manner
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areas
  • Requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations
  • Must comply with company policies, federal and state laws, and regulatory standards
  • Conducting oversight of material delivery to designated work area
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of mine management and co-workers
  • Ability to perform outby production support tasks including but not limited to compliance duties, brattice work, belt and power moves, and pipe and pumping support
  • Visually inspect work area for hazards
  • Ability to perform fill-in duties for other workers as necessary
  • Work independently without direct supervision
  • Organize and prioritize assigned tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work approximately 900 feet underground 8-10 hours a day

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least one (1) year related coal mining experience, preferred

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Reliable transportation to work
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Knowledge of general mining practices, and State and Federal mining laws
  • Must be able to successfully complete industry approved training courses
  • State issued Experienced Miners card (current), if applicable
  • State issued Apprentice Miners Card, if applicable
  • Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
  • Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicants religious practices)
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule on a 24/7 basis (subject to the applicants religious practices)
  • Ability to lift bags of rock dust and operate rock dust machine
  • Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
  • Ability to push/pull as needed
  • Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead
  • Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed
