Job Description

Role & responsibilities

• Monitor and assess the progress of trainees through regular evaluations, quizzes, and practical assessments.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to ensure continuous improvement in coding accuracy and efficiency.
• Work closely with other training professionals, subject matter experts, and department heads to align training programs with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify specific training needs and customize programs accordingly.
• Provide one-on-one mentoring and coaching to trainees, offering guidance on complex coding scenarios and facilitating career development.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of training sessions, participant progress, and any relevant feedback.
• Generate reports on training effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven experience as a Medical Coding Trainer or similar role.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
• In-depth knowledge of medical coding systems, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in instructional design and delivery.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to adapt to changes in industry standards and convey updates effectively.
