Salad and Go was founded in 2013 in Gilbert, Arizona. The company currently operates 100+ stores across Arizona, Nevada, Texas, and Oklahoma and growing.

As the Construction Manager, you will:

• Actively participate and assist in the development and execution of strategic and tactical real estate plans for Salad and Go. This may include interacting with senior level internal team members to understand business plans, projected store growth, etc. to determine future and optimum real estate needs.
• Provide leadership for the Specials team (PMs) while delivering on the development plan for new food manufacturing facilities growth and other construction projects as necessary (ex. DC construction, Remodels, etc.).
• Manage the development, construction, and implementation of projects for domestic properties in the entire Salad and Go network with involvement in expansion and new market projects.
• During pre-construction, partner with design management team on creation of site-specific design & pre-construction management team in the bidding and award of general contractor contract to keep projects within the established budget. During construction work with design and construction external partners to ensure conformance with scope and schedule, managing change orders, RFIs, submittals and reporting project progress accurately to senior management. Closes projects out with turnover to Supply Chain/ Operations, reconciliation of costs and turnover of project documentation.
• Assist design and construction consultants in securing jurisdictional approvals. Review construction plans and specifications, design consultation and construction contracts, change orders, applications for payment and all other required project documents in order to provide decisions and recommendations.
• Partner with intra-departmental Salad and Go business units for their reviews and input into the relevant project plans, contract documents and specifications.
• Track construction project budgets and schedules for each project. Ensure projects are completed within schedule, within budget constraints, and in accordance with relevant contracts, as well as Salad and Go policy. Maintain project files in adherence with standard practice and audit.
• Actively shape and contribute to the overall RE Development teams strategic goals and execution plans through specific knowledge related to design and construction activities and the ability to communicate on pertinent issues to all levels of staff and management.
• Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. These may include high level interdisciplinary studies with other business units about the physical workplace (store & office), worker demographics, broad trends in real estate, design and construction that might affect the overall real estate portfolio.
• Promote the development of outside consultants, including but not limited to fostering new GC partnerships to create a solid GC base in market.
• Assess the site development processes to identify improvement opportunities and to customize processes based on the needs of the development team.
• Evaluate low-cost-best-value for all building, site, and construction costs.
• Partner with the Construction Supply Chain Manager to identify opportunities to reduce cost, reduce schedule risk and to create consistency of material/product supplied by direct purchasing opportunities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the broad spectrum of Real Estate and Development activities, with a demonstrated emphasis and proven track record on building design, engineering, and construction management or as a responsible manager of these activities.
• Experience of leading a team of internal direct reports
• Undergraduate degree (professional preferred) in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
• Advanced degree a plus in a related field, or continued education and training in design, construction, or project management. Professional licensure in architecture or engineering is a plus.
• Excellent relationship management skills. The role entails significant interaction with a variety of internal and external entities. Ability to handle complex situations/planning needs and interact with all levels of personnel within Salad and Go as well as external partnerships.
• Excellent, proven negotiation and influencing skills, particularly with a host of external entities with regards to statements of work, contracts, etc.
• Strong demonstrated financial and analytical skills as related to commercial real estate and/or interior and exterior design and construction projects.
• Excellent project management skills for design and construction projects with a proven delivery/execution track record including the management of interdisciplinary teams including internal and external personnel.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of computer software related to the field such as Computer Aided Drafting Design (CADD). Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications.
