Electrical/ Electronic Controls Engineering

Location: Columbus, IN  

• Lead and manage controls DVP&R testing in the test cell for the genset controller software development project. HMI software development: Perform the HMI programming tasks based on Indusoft software. Perform the simulation-based testing of genset controllers and HMI. Complete the systems design documentation. Investigate system issues that could be caused by embedded software, perform root cause analysis, and create change requests for the ATS and Genset embedded control software. Other support work including upfits / field support /procurement/supplier support as needed. Electrical integration subsystem support including line, build, and testing support. Create reports/ communicate cross-functionally on different forums. Qualification and experience required: BS/MS in Electrical / Electronic engineering/controls engineering/systems engineering Minimum 3 -5 years of experience in the industry Experience reading and interpreting system and software requirements to create test cases. Experience with common root cause analysis techniques and documentation (FTA, FMEA, 7 Steps problem-solving process, etc.) Experience with the basic concepts of software control systems and diagnostics codes. Experience with testing CAN, J1939, and Ethernet communication Experience working in an electronics lab with common debugging tools such as a multimeter, oscilloscope, network analyzer, and emulators. Experience in writing systems design documents Some experience with hardware is a plus, ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings. Experience in the automotive, construction, heavy haul, or off-highway transportation industries. Experience in small and medium-scale project management skills is a plus. Experience working on genset from electrical integration and controllers point of view is plus.
