Position: Control & Reporting Associate Accountant
Intake notes: Hybrid 2-3 days in onsite

Corporate Control North America Team is a center of excellence delivering financial services and capabilities for North America in partnership with our managed services providers. Services are provided to all PepsiCo divisions in the US and Canada. The campus is located at the Frito Lay HQ Campus in Plano Texas.
This position is within the Accounting Services Group (ASG). It is a project accounting role. It supports Information Technology (IT) Division through accounting, analysis, and reporting of each period's close activities. The project accounting portfolio consists of baseline projects with a heavy emphasis on period amortizations for software development supporting Strategy and Transformation, Global Information Security, and Enterprise Amortization projects.
As a Control & Reporting Associate Accountant, you will:
- Review and prepare/process period journal entries in accordance with month end close example: IT cross charges, prepaid amortizations, accruals etc. Ensure all spending (capital and expense) and support complies with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and PepsiCo policies.
- Manage labor accrual process for vendors and ensure proper accounting and upload periodic entries.
- Provide accounting guidance to Project and Finance Managers. Review expense spend through project life cycle and contracts to make accounting recommendations as appropriate.
- Query and perform financial statement analysis for period close.
- Validate and prepare projects for release during Annual Operating Plan process and Out of Plan.
- Perform project-related SOX controls for Capital Spend and Prepaid Expenses.
- IT Project accounting maintenance researching/reclassing misclassified data.
- Adhoc project requests
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related business degree.
- 2+ years of relevant accounting/financial experience.
- Intermediate MS Excel.
- Strong accounting knowledge/ability to understand and reconcile financial data.
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and make decisions autonomously.
- Effectively communicates and provides insights to cross functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP FICO and Project Systems.
- SOP 98-1 Knowledge: Capitalization/ Amortization of Software and Cloud Computing Arrangements.
- Knowledge of PepsiCo businesses and processes.
- Experience in SAP ledger and Business Warehouse (BW) Reporting for data analytics is a plus.
- CPA preferred/CPA candidate.
