A full-time Cost Estimator position is available immediately in the companys office in Stoughton, Massachusetts and reporting to the company.

Job Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Estimator, the Cost Estimator will have the following specific job responsibilities:

(1) Prepare and build landscape, irrigation and hardscape construction estimates/bids using Sage Estimator and Onscreen program;
(2) Base costs on identified project specifications by studying project design, customer requirements, and performance standards determined by engineers;
(3) Document engineering drawings, specifications, addendums, as well as previous cost data for each project using the Company database, and maintain cost-monitoring systems and procedures for estimated and actual costs of projects;
(4) Prepare projects starting with complete materials takeoff, including a comprehensive list of materials required for the projects, as well as their associated quantities;
(5) Evaluate vendors or subcontractors to determine cost-effectiveness and identify opportunities to reduce costs;
(6) Verify and consolidate quotes from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to build an accurate estimate;
(7) Track labor efficiency and the progress of work, and communicate with General Contractors to ensure the project adheres to the planned budget and timeline;
(8) Evaluate bid specifications and engineering drawings to facilitate the Companys bidding process;
(9) Facilitate the budgeting and purchasing for projects and assist the Project Managers and Engineers as required to facilitate the needs of the projects.

Work Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Experience and Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (foreign equivalent is acceptable) plus a minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated professional employment experience in preparing cost estimates at a construction or engineering company.

Required employment experience must include the following:

(1) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in studying engineering drawings to prepare, assess, and evaluate cost estimates for civil engineering and construction projects;
(2) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in documenting and analyzing historical cost data for civil engineering and construction projects to identify opportunities to reduce cost;
(3) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in monitoring budget and labor efficiency to ensure the project adheres to the planned budget and timeline;
(4) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in liaising with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate purchasing and budgeting for civil engineering and construction projects;
(5) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in engaging in the documentation and preparation process of project bidding; and
(6) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in using engineering software (AutoCAD), and document processing software (Microsoft Office).
