Cost/Financial Data Analyst

Duration 12 Months Contract

Syracuse, NY

Responsibilities:

Reconcile actual costs associated with projects versus the job estimates and formulate final bill for the customer. Will be responsible for tracking and meeting performance goals.
Develop a working understanding of the applicable regulations we operate under (example tariffs). Will need to apply tariff rules to project work and determine whether costs are reimbursable.
Identify, address, and resolve complex issues. Be able to analyze themes and trends from a range of sources and systems to identify opportunities
Develop relationships with key internal stakeholders to obtain and share information.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in a related area preferred and/or a minimum of 2-3 years of progressive growth in business support roles.
Excellent Microsoft Office suite and other technical skills required.
Knowledge of SAP-GUI and HANA-BI preferred.
Strong analytical skills including the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to both internal customers.
Familiarity with electric and gas utility accounting and finance requirements; knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation, including developments in regulation.
Experience in utility service billing, business activities and systems preferred.
Basic understanding of Relational Database Management Systems and related data management concepts preferred.
