Job TitleCost Specialist Job Description
In this role, you have the opportunity to estimate/analyze costing, planning and doing risk assessment for associated parts and products of a Diagnostic X-ray (Radiography, Fluoro & Mammography) systems. Further you are responsible for knowing the significance and meaning of product Life Cycle Costs including design-to-cost comparisons, creating technical and commercial views for a component, sub-system and systems.
You are responsible for
Determine cost estimate targets during the design and development process, recommending cost effective solutions Gather proposals, specifications and related documents and work closely with all the stakeholders to convert specifications to cost estimates for new and current products Establish cost estimates of production processes, tooling costs and review alternatives or put forward recommendations for improvement with a proactive approach Assess cost effectiveness of products and track actual costs relative to budget and report status on a regular basis to ensure costs are in line with forecasts Contribute to cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures including trending analysis Working closely with all the team members both R&D team members (Like Systems, Verification, Norm compliance etc..) and cross functional stakeholders (Like Service, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Clinical etc) during project execution phase Coordinate and work with the procurement, suppliers and other cost masters and ensure project goals are met Define Cost Estimate scope & Structure, project time, phases to be estimated, communication channels, and establish any boundaries for estimates or project requirements Collect and monitor data, manage risks, identify (if necessary) contingency plan, control changes and communication. Measure and report on progress. Develop Cost Estimating Relationships: Use cost data to develop formulas/equations entered the cost model. Should have knowledge of cost optimization techniques & benchmarking Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects which includes variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress Achievement of the technical goal/commitment of a project Delegates, coach and verify the implementation by Engineers Working closely with local and global Stakeholders Contributing to Technology Roadmaps Performs work in line with the processes that have been agreed in the department. Maintains product and company reputation by complying with country specific regulations.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
M.Tech /B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical engineering, Industrial or other related engineering field 7+ years of relevant experience (one end to end X-ray product development experience is preferred) of system/subsystem Evaluate design tradeoffs of electro-mechanical systems and quantify the cost of incremental features during NPI and VAVE projects. Should have experience in determining should costing and target costing analysis Knowledge of engineering materials, Creating EBOM. This includes Mechanical and Electrical components BOM costing Design to Cost (DTC) analysis including manufacturing aspects Experience with aPriori software (preferable) Operating knowledge and experience of design software (CAD Tools, preferable) Help in supplier negotiations including spend analysis Experience in latest engineering design and methods, tools, and processes including Procurement and supply chain aspects. Knowledge in the use of MS Project and expert in MS Excel tool Disciplined team worker, ability to work independently System thinking mindset and domain expertise in the related area Ability to present ideas and to convince project team members Be structured and self-organized Excellent communication skills Team player, leadership skills and drive for results Quality mindset in design and documentation Intercultural sensitivity Self-motivated & ability to coach, support and direct the Engineers in a subgroup.
