Job Title: Veg Technician | Reports to: Veg Lead | Location: Homestead, FL (Redlands)


The Veg Technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of cannabis plants during the vegetative growth stage. This role involves ensuring the health, growth, and proper development of cannabis plants before they transition to the flowering stage. This role involves tasks such as transplanting, pruning, training, pest management, and maintaining environmental conditions to optimize plant health and prepare plants for the flowering stage.


Responsibilities:

  • Plant Care: Provide daily care for cannabis plants in the vegetative stage, including watering, feeding, and monitoring for signs of stress or disease.
  • Transplanting: Transplant cannabis plants into larger containers as they outgrow their current pots, ensuring proper spacing and soil quality.
  • Pruning and Training: Prune and train cannabis plants to encourage bushier growth, improve light penetration, and optimize yield.
  • Pest and Disease Monitoring: Regularly inspect plants for signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies, and take appropriate measures to address any issues.
  • Nutrient Management: Mix and administer nutrient solutions according to established schedules and plant requirements.
  • Environmental Control: Monitor and maintain environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, light levels, and ventilation, to promote healthy plant growth.
  • Data Recording: Keep detailed records of plant care activities, including feeding schedules, pruning dates, and any pest or disease treatments.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with inventory management teams to track plant movement and quantity.
  • Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized work area, following sanitation protocols to prevent contamination.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all local and state regulations governing cannabis cultivation, including record-keeping and reporting requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other cultivation team members to ensure the smooth transition of plants from the vegetative stage to the flowering stage.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in cannabis cultivation or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cannabis plant biology and cultivation techniques.
  • Attention to detail and precision in plant care and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work in a regulated environment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Working Conditions:
  • Work in a cannabis cultivation facility dedicated to vegetative growth.
  • Exposure to cannabis plants, cultivation equipment, and cultivation materials.
  • Compliance with strict security and confidentiality protocols.
  • May require working irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet cultivation demands.
  • Adherence to all relevant cannabis regulations and safety guidelines.


Starting Wage: $16.00 per hour (with potential increase after probationary period based on performance). The Flowery offers yearly (or performance based) evaluations per the company's discretion. All full-time employees automatically qualify for benefits, PTO & Paid Holidays after their probationary period; which is 30 days. Starting wages are determined by several factors including experience.

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

- 21 years of age or older

- Can actively pass a level two federal background check

- Obtained their high school diploma, GED or equivalent

- Flexible availability (please provide requests or restrictions in the application accurately)

- Can lift 50lbs over their head, stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, kneel, squat etc as necessary to get the job done
