Summary

  • Fully remote, but needs to be in the eastern or central time zones.
  • Unique opportunity to join a startup that is well-funded with strong product-market fit (hundreds of paying customers, #1 in G2 category, several team members are former customers, etc)
  • Ideally looking for someone with 3+ years of event experience in a restaurant or support experience at a restaurant tech company.

About Perfect Venue

Private events and catering represent about a third of restaurant revenue and are often their highest margin revenue stream. However, most restaurants manage this critical revenue stream using their own home-brewed manual process with poorly organized spreadsheets, cumbersome Word templates, and handwritten credit card authorizations. Errors are costly and can severely harm restaurants' bottom line. Existing solutions like Tripleseat, are decades old and more complicated and expensive than what most restaurants need.

For guests looking to book a venue, the process is equally frustrating. Often it requires combing the internet, sending dozens of emails, and once a venue is booked - a lengthy back and forth over proposal documents that are often out of date and poorly formatted.

Were changing that. Our mission is to bring communities together and empower small businesses by making the event booking experience effortless.

With our all-in-one event management tool, we save restaurants hours every day and drive tens of thousands of dollars in new revenue. Our tool allows restaurants to manage inbound leads, send digital proposals, and accept online payments in one integrated platform. By being more affordable and easier to use than existing solutions, we can empower independent restaurants to compete with large chains and hotels.

This is just the beginning. We plan to build a marketplace ( la Airbnb, Open Table) to help guests book restaurants and expand to other types of venues (Hotels, Event Centers) and other types of businesses (Caterers, Florists) in the future.


The Opportunity

We have customers all over the country paying hundreds of dollars per month and are backed by leading investors, including the 1st investor in Zoom and top Silicon Valley investors. Weve made great progress, but we are still a small team, so youll have lots of autonomy and responsibility from day one.

Every day you'll get to work with restaurants and venues around the country helping them answer their questions and helping them better utilize Perfect Venue. Additionally, you'll be responsible for helping manage accounts by helping customers understand how best to leverage our different features and add more locations to better optimize their events business.


Responsibilities

Help existing customers better use Perfect Venue

  • Respond to customer questions
  • Create and manage our Frequently Asked Questions page so customers can more easily answer questions on their own
  • Monitor customers' usage to identify customers that may not be happy or engaged, recommend upgrading plans, etc
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations for customers on how to use Perfect Venue better to improve their events business

Serve as the voice of the customer

  • Collect and organize customer feedback

Be flexible!

  • At the end of the day, were a startup - so things are always changing. Somedays, you may be doing the above; other days, you're helping with sales, and other days you're putting out the latest fire.

Requirements

About You

You love teaching and seeing others succeed. You've spent several years working as an event sales manager and can share that knowledge with restaurants all over the country to help them take their events business to the next level. You believe that the restaurant's success is your success. You're excited about innovation in the events industry and want to help build the next generation of tools that restaurants will use for years to come.

You are drawn to challenges and can develop new processes and iterate and improve existing ones. However, if you dont know how to do something, you will FITFO.

Need to Haves

  • 3+ years in restaurant event sales/management or experience in support or onboarding at a restaurant tech company
  • Experience training others in a professional context
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Extremely responsive over email
  • Passion for understanding restaurants' needs, providing recommendations on how best to use our software, and acting as a consultant to provide high-quality recommendations.
  • Master at making systems more efficient, taking a manual process and automating as much of it as possible while also providing stellar customer service.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with event management software (Perfect Venue, Gather, Tripleseat, Planning Pod, Caterease, etc.)
  • Experience making proposals and BEOs
  • Willing to work in the East Coast timezone
  • You love to ski & snowboard or want to learn
  • You love to cook (or eat)
  • You love animals
