CADD/GIS Administrator 1/CGA1
Hybrid working on-site at ODOT a minimum of 2 days a week.
The candidate will be working in The Ohio Department of Transportation s Division of Planning, Office of Technical Services, Roadway Information GIS section (RIGIS). They will be supporting aspects of ODOT s Roadway Information Management System (RIMS).
This position will function as a highly skilled CGA with specific responsibilities that include:
Responsible for editing or creating multiple features including, a road network, attributes, and boundaries in ESRI ArcMap / ArcPro Researching and recording roadway inventory changes Follows and performs data quality control procedures Adheres to agency data standards Coordinate with county, local offices, ODOT districts, and other agencies Implement mileage changes and ensures supporting documentation complies with ODOT business requirements Use source data such as construction as-built drawings, resolutions, plats, and field collected resources Performs data analysis Creates reports and documents using data and statistics derived from the roadway inventory Update various types of databases (SQL, Access, Oracle)
REQUIRED: 4-year bachelor s degree or equivalent technical study Course work in Geospatial sciences or related field 1 year experience with the GIS software Knowledge of GIS, geospatial, and fundamental concepts (datums, projections, coordinate systems, etc.) Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) Ability to communicate with non-GIS staff to determine needs and develop products Can work independently and as part of a team Ability to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines with little supervision Strong communication and organizational skills Have excellent analytical, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills Must be knowledgeable in the English language and be able to speak clearly and understandably
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor s degree in Geospatial sciences or related field Linear Referencing Systems knowledge ESRI ArcGIS suite of products (ArcMap, ArcPro, AGOL) ESRI Roads & Highways experience SQL DB knowledge / experience Knowledge of Microsoft Access (Reports, Forms, Queries) Ability to interpret construction plans / drawings
