Data Governance Analyst Location: US-IL-Chicago Email this job to a friend

job summary:
-Job Description: Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for working with various enterprise level and local data management, governance, and data quality teams as well as technology teams. Will contribute to efforts to capture and manage the data dictionaries/catalogue, data lineage, and all forms of business, technical and operational metadata within the Metadata Repository. Additionally role will support data quality issue tracking and resolution activities. Responsibilities will include:
- Assist in providing data governance guidance and support for business process and control owners.
- Acting as the delegate for ensuring application owners are in adherence with records management policy.
- Identify, research, and determine root cause for data quality errors to include scope and complexity of the issue, and make recommendations for long-term solutions.
- Work closely with data owners in the identification and documentation of business and technical metadata.
- Ensure quality and integrity of metadata.
General Skills:
- Solid technical and analytical skills, as well as hands-on experience with metadata management platforms.
- Must be pro-active and be able to drive direction of work that needs to be completed, based on assigned tasks.
- Ability to work independently on initiatives with little oversight. Motivated and willing to learn.
- Must have solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid ability to organize, prioritize, and dive into details.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Solid interpersonal skills are needed to gain cooperation from various stakeholders.
- Solid analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking
- Ability to work with Technical and Non-Technical business owner
location: Chicago, Illinois job type: Contract salary: $33.24 - 43.24 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities:
