IT Concepts is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to support our Server Refreshment Project at the Social Security Administration. The qualified candidate should have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with sharp attention to detail. Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for quantitative problem-solving with a rigorous approach to data analysis
- Confident data scientist, creative thinker, motivated problem solver, standout colleague, and life-long learner
- Three years of experience in the construction, testing, and application of regression, decision tree, and machine learning models
- Data Architecture Knowledge and ability to create models and standards to govern which data is collected, and how it is stored, arranged, integrated, and put to use in data systems and in organizations
- Data Mining Knowledge of tools, techniques, and practices in data mining technologies used to acquire essential business information
- Information Capture Knowledge of the processes and the ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable, and easily retrievable manner
- Machine Learning Knowledge of principles, technologies and algorithms of machine learning; ability to develop, implement and deliver related systems, products and services
- Modeling: Data, Process, Events, Objects Knowledge of and the ability to use tools and techniques for analyzing and documenting logical relationships among data, processes or events
- Prototyping Knowledge of and ability to implement prototyping disciplines, tools and techniques in evolutionary models within the target environment
- Query and Database Access Tools Knowledge of and the ability to use, support and access facilities for extracting and formatting a database management system
- Experienced with statistics and statistical analysis of data, machine learning algorithms, or general algorithm development
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment
- Familiar with visualization tools such as Tableau
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, or another related technical discipline
- One (1) or more certifications related to data science and/or security
- At least three years of relevant professional experience
- Experienced with other programming languages (e.g. C#, Java, .NET etc.)
- Experienced with deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing
- Experienced with common cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
- Excellent skill and extensive experience in big data processing tools such as Apache Spark, Snowflake or equivalent querying language and systems
Requirements - Understand business needs and identify opportunities for process optimization to meet business objectives through the use of cutting-edge data science
- Create descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive models and insights to drive impact across the organization
- Support the delivery of strategic advanced analytics solutions across the organization with solutions drawing on descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics and modeling
- Design and implement solutions and corresponding data architectures to address the needs of the customer
- Work closely with the customer to understand their unique problems and constraints, and then dig into their data-rich environment to find the pieces of their information puzzle
- Analyze algorithms, write scripts, build predictive analytics, automate processes, apply machine learning techniques, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn a set of disparate data points into objective answers to help leadership make informed decisions
- Communicate principled conclusions from data using mathematics, statistics, computer science, and application specific knowledge
- Apply knowledge in machine learning, statistics, software development, and data science to solve challenges and provide meaningful insight on datasets of all sizes and types
- Utilize statistical analysis, unsupervised machine learning, supervised machine learning, and deep learning as needed
- Build models and simulations to describe data, predict events, and prescribe a course of action
- Look for innovative ways to derive novel insights from customer data
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams from across the organization to design and execute technical studies across a variety of domains
- Effectively communicate and clearly present results to leadership
- Design creative AI and ML algorithms as well develop analytic pipelines for analyzing large-scale and complex data
- Leverage a broad set of modern technologies - including Python, R, Scala, and Spark - to analyze and gain insights within large data sets
Preference will be given to individuals who: - Possess a background in contact center operations
- Have an active Public Trust Clearance
