Must have skills:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives around Data Governance
Certification from respective Vendor University Program (Alation/IBM IGC or relevant Data Catalog tools)
Minimum 2 years of experience in Data Governance playing the role or in support of Data Stewards
Build, manage, and curate a data catalog with metadata to enable business to discover data assets
Establish the Enterprise Data Catalog and enable shop-for-data functionality in the Data Governance Tool
Creating and managing relevant information about the data assets using business glossaries, documenting standards, and managing data quality.
Create and edit glossary terms and articles, build and run queries in the data Catalog tool
Ability to analyze built in reports and help to determine where to focus your curation efforts.
Assist in the development and implementation of new Data Governance Policies, Procedures and Standards
Identifying and resolving data-related issues and anomalies.
Working knowledge on Enterprise Data Catalog tools like IBM IGC, Collibra, Alation
Roles & Responsibility:
Responsible to understand the Information Architecture in the organization and align to the Alation tool along with /or/and IBM IGC to build the business glossary/data catalog
Responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of the Enterprise Data Catalog by managing additions, updates, and deletion of new data assets (Databases, Reports)
Responsible for data profiling, data lineage and meta data management. Understanding of concepts of ADS (Authoritative Data Source), SOR, SOO, Technical and Business data lineage, Report Certification
Knowledge of Data Governance tool (Alation/IBM IGC/Collibra) integration with varied data sources like Snowflake and work with BI analytics tools like Tableau, Looker, MicroStrategy and others
Working knowledge on Analytics capabilities of the Data Catalog tool (Alation/IBM IGC/Collibra)
Create new as well as update existing workflows in the Data Governance tool
Maintain the integrity, efficiency, and availability of metadata as well as data by aligning to the Enterprise data governance strategy, the metrics and measurement, and following the Data Governance Standards, policies and procedures.
Operates independently and with peers to execute information governance and data management practices and processes.
Ability to document procedures and process maps using tools like ARIS, Visio, Mural.
Support training, communication and enterprise-wide education on Data Governance and the enablement of new policies, procedures & frameworks
