Client is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our client for a contract position in Houston, Texas. As a Data Visualization Analyst - Power BI you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights. Your proficiency in Power BI and DAX programming will be essential for creating compelling visualizations and driving data-driven decision-making. Responsibilities: Data Exploration and Analysis: Collect, clean, and analyze data from various sources. Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within datasets. Collaborate with stakeholders to define analytical requirements. Power BI Visualization: Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI. Create visually appealing charts, graphs, and KPIs. Optimize data visualizations for user-friendly consumption. DAX Programming: Write complex DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formulas. Implement calculated columns, measures, and custom functions. Leverage DAX to perform advanced calculations and aggregations. Data Storytelling: Translate data insights into meaningful narratives. Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Influence business decisions through compelling storytelling. Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders. Participate in cross-functional teams to drive data initiatives. Contribute to data governance and best practices. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field. Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably with a focus on Power BI and DAX. Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation. Must have experience in an Oil and Gas and/or plant production environment Familiarity with data modeling concepts and techniques. Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex insights effectively. Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving. Preferred Skills Power BI Certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, QlikView, etc. Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes. Understanding of statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
