Provide oversight of vendors supporting legacy on-prem database systems (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) as well as cloud database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) in both AWS and Azure with areas of expertise to include version monitoring, upgrades, auditing, patch support, design, configuration, trouble shooting and the use of ETL and reporting tools. Oversight of all database auditing policies and procedures in both Oracle Audit Vault and cloud based custom solutions. Provide guidance and recommendations on database configurations to ensure uptime and positive user experience on databases. This can include areas such as cluster configuration, SAN storage/ASM configuration, database configuration, network/hardware configuration for RAC clusters, listener/scan listener configuration, audit configurations
Review and provide feedback on vendor documentation relating to system and database design, database administration, and implementation processes to ensure vendor alignment with TennCare requirements in the areas of data security and data design and ensure vendors are following TennCare processes
Oversee research and troubleshooting of issues impacting all database systems. Offer support by assisting with system problems in a timely manner. Ability to collaborate with multiple vendors to solve complex data related issues and interoperability constraints. Attend and lead regular meetings with Vendor DBA teams to manage issues and provide guidance and direction
Provide guidance and direction to TennCare on definition of policies and procedures for vendors who support and maintain database systems that will protect TennCare's data, and ensure appropriate administration of that data at all times
