Dental Receptionist Location: US-DC-Washington Email this job to a friend

Seeking an experienced Receptionist to perform administrative duties for a busy, well-established dental practice in the heart of Washington, DC. The Receptionist will provide courteous, prompt and efficient customer service to all patients and visitors.
This position is on-site, full-time, Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
In this role, the Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for our patients and guests. The ideal candidate will have a welcoming personality, excellent customer service skills and the ability to think proactively and take direction.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Greet guests in a professional and courteous manner
-Answer incoming calls and take detailed messages
-Schedule and confirm appointments for new and existing patients; Follow up on no-shows and cancellations
-Communicate with insurance providers for verification of patient insurance
-Assist patients with filling out required medical intake forms
-Respond promptly to patient inquiries and requests
-Enter patient data into the system and update patient records as necessary
-Assist with billing procedures and collecting payments
-Perform general office duties such as filing, organizing documents, maintaining office supplies and distributing mail
-Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth office operations
-Maintain a clean and tidy reception area
-Other clerical duties as assigned
Requirements:
-At least 3 years of receptionist, customer service or administrative experience, preferably in a medical setting
-High school diploma or GED or its equivalent, Associates or Bachelors degree from an accredited institution or completion of a medical administration program is a plus
-Exceptional customer service skills and telephone etiquette, demonstrating a friendly and professional demeanor
-Previous experience working with multiple phone lines
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
-Experience with automated systems (i.e. Microsoft Office 365) and scheduling software. Previous use of dental management software is a plus
-Knowledge of dental terminology and insurance plans is advantageous
