Were looking for an experienced Deputy Director of Intelligence to help oversee the production, editing, and distribution of intelligence products on a daily basis covering a wide array of subject-matter portfolios. The intelligence products must meet the needs of a diverse set of professionals and enterprises across the public-private sector divide. Suitable candidates will have experience working on national security and/or intelligence topics within the U.S. government, the private sector, or both. They must be immediately able to help lead a team of analysts to deliver accurate and actionable intelligence that will enable Bedrock Learning clients to make more informed decisions.

Only U.S. citizens living in or willing to relocate to the Washington, DC metro area can be considered for this position. This is not a remote position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Intelligence, and stand in for the Director of Intelligence when needed, with the following:

  • Oversee the Bedrock intelligence cycle, including collection, analysis, production, and dissemination
  • Edit intelligence briefs in accordance with Bedrock Learning substantive and style guidelines
  • Build a skilled and experienced intel team from the ground up and foster the professional, talent, and leadership advancement of that team
  • Develop and deepen relationships with experts and vendors
  • Work closely with learning content employees to offer a suite of learning experiences across portfolios
  • Collaborate with other internal departments, including Product, Tech, and Business Development, to ensure that intelligence products align with company goals and objectives.

Requirements

What Qualities and Qualifications Do We Want?

  • A bachelors degree in political science, international relations, intelligence studies, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • A minimum of eight years of experience working in the public and/or private sector on national security matters, included experience leading or mentoring others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to include exceptional written English
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Experience working effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks, and managing competing demands
  • Experience in public speaking and presenting intelligence briefings
  • High EQ
  • Belief in the power of the Age of Lifelong Learning
  • Comfort creating and following organizational frameworks, procedures, and action plans in ambiguous environments
  • Strong sense of ownership and the capacity to act with urgency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ease working in a dynamic, team-based start-up environment
  • Interest in a role that requires building and growing a team
