IT Concepts is looking for an experienced Desktop Support Technician to support our IT infrastructure support efforts for the Social Security Administration

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with limited technical oversight among team members to ensure enterprise-wide consistency of support requirements by aiding the efforts of specialists on project(s) across components and/or technical areas;
  • Maintain and ensure customers use of applications in Intelligent Workstation/Local Area Network (IWS/LAN) environments;
  • Maintains and supports Agency applications, computer and/or network operating systems, and other system software;
  • Possess effective oral and written communications skills to clearly convey issues, reports, and other deliverables to SSA counterparts;
  • Manage the daily response to SSA customer requests for IT support services by providing IT support to customers both onsite and in remote locations;
  • Image, configure, update, and deploy government laptops, and install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop and network printers;
  • Setup, configure, administer, support and troubleshoot Microsoft Exchange email accounts;
  • Create, support, administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Exchange distribution lists, individual and group mailboxes, and move mailboxes, user accounts across domains and update user information in the Global Address List;
  • Support, administer and troubleshoot issues with Windows Operating Systems, Adobe products, and Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to: Outlook, OneDrive personal folders, OneNote, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint Designer);
  • Install, support and troubleshoot agency-approved third party auxiliary software including but not limited to Cisco AnyConnect VPN, Snagit, and others;
  • Troubleshoot Network, internet/intranet and wireless network connectivity issues;
  • Provide iPhone setup, configuration, troubleshooting and provide onsite and remote support for SSA customers;
  • Create technical procedures such as how to documents;
  • Create and present technical training.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as part of desktop support teams resolving customer service requests;
  • Advanced experience with ticketing systems and escalation processes;
  • Experience providing hands-on and remote customer support for LAN and laptop based hardware, software and peripherals;
  • Skill in troubleshooting network, internet/intranet and wireless network connectivity issues;
  • Knowledge administering and troubleshooting issues with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to: Outlook, OneDrive personal folders, OneNote, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and SharePoint);
  • Familiarity with iPhone setup, configuration and troubleshooting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Clearance:

  • A current SSA Public Trust clearance is highly preferred.
  • The ability to obtain SSA Public Trust clearance is mandatory.
