Job Description

DevOps Engineerfor a Leading Engineering & Construction Company

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and enhance tools, infrastructure, and processes to enhance development efforts.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement of development and release procedures.
• Review and assess code authored by other developers.
• Collaborate with software developers and engineers to ensure adherence to established processes and functionality.
• Uphold software and system security against cybersecurity threats.
• Identify technical issues and develop software updates and solutions.
• Monitor application and system performance, track metrics, collect and analyze logs, and address issues as necessary.
• Collaborate with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements.
• Coordinate with the cybersecurity team to ensure security compliance.
• Troubleshoot problems across various services and functional areas.
• Work with the security and architecture teams to design and implement backup and recovery solutions.
• Ensure that security standards and proper architecture are adhered to in cooperation with the security team and application owners.
• Manage monitoring, logging, alerting, change and configuration management, and contribute to incident response.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud technology, server, storage, and security best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3 years of relevant experience.
• Additional directly related experience will be considered as an alternative to a degree.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of JavaScript, C#, and/or Python.
• Intermediate proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Configuration and administration of databases like PostgreSQL and Mongo.
• Intermediate capability to create custom scripts and configure automation tools and pipelines.
• Familiarity with various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks both independently and as part of a team.
• Awareness of DevOps and Agile principles.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Desirable experience with:

• Kubernetes
• Istio
• Databases (MongoDB, Aurora/PostgreSQL)
• CI/CD Tools
• Git
• Docker
• A plus if experienced with: Azure DevOps (Pipelines), GCP, Helm
