About your role as Developer Advocate
In this role, you will be a key player in our international team, helping shape our product offerings based on the insights you gather from our community. You will use your technical skills to generate engaging content such as tutorials, blogs, and videos to educate and inspire our users. Your insights from engaging with the community will help guide our product and engineering teams to improve our offerings.
Being a part of Vaadin means you get to communicate with our community across various platforms, including social media and Discord. You will also represent us at events, speaking passionately about our products and services.
We value good communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and your willingness to share knowledge. As you will be engaging with both internal teams and our community, your ability to explain complex technical matters in an easy-to-understand way will be crucial.
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years of experience working in software development.
- Solid Java skills, including experience with front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
- Prior experience engaging with OSS communities is required.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Able to efficiently produce technical blogs, demonstrations, videos, and social media posts for developers. Video editing skills are a plus.
- Comfortable doing presentations at conferences and meetups to technical audiences of up to 100.
- Proven track record engaging on technology topics on Twitter and/or LinkedIn.
- Good social and collaboration skills, with an ability to engage with the community on various platforms.
- US-based, East Coast preferred. Some overlap is required with European time zones. Ability to travel on a monthly basis.
Where to work from?
We encourage remote working from anywhere in the US. While an East Coast location is preferred, what matters most is finding the right person for the job.
