Air Products Membrane Solutions has developed a forward business plan that includes significant growth commitments in Sales Revenue which requires bringing new products to the marketplace. Development Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:


We are seeking a Development Engineer to support new membrane and product development. This position is located at our St. Louis, Missouri location. This position requires no travel.

We are seeking a
Development Engineer
to support new membrane and product development. The successful candidate will enjoy:

Being part of an engineering, manufacturing, and business organization developing membrane-based gas separation solutions
Developing new membrane technologies from concept to commercialization
Tapping into the wealth of technical experience available within Air Products.
Being part of a team of highly motivated professionals
Ability to take on additional responsibilities and grow and the opportunity to explore technical interests.


About the Position:
The Development Engineer works closely within the R&D group to execute development projects through laboratory experimentation, testing, scale-up, and translation in addition to developing and maintaining laboratory equipment. This position supports the growth of Membrane Solutions through new membrane and product development and existing product enhancements to serve new and existing markets.


Required Skills / Abilities:


Execute experimental plans, product lab testing, and translation into production.
Conduct laboratory and Pilot Plant hollow fiber membrane spinning.
Lead design, safety review, and construction of test systems.
Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory equipment.
Participate in data analysis and decision-making on projects.
Support product enhancement projects.
Perform safety-related activities that enhance Air Products first-class safety culture.
Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to support manufacturing operations.


Education and Licensing Requirements:


Associate degree or equivalent preferred, membrane experience a plus
3+ years laboratory experience
Test system design/construction/operation experience required.
Creative mindset, willingness to explore novel solutions, and good mechanical skills.
Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Valid Drivers License
Valid Drivers License required.
Good driving record
