We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Director of Business Development & Supplier Diversity to help us expand our business. This person should be as passionate and enthusiastic about our organization's mission as we are; someone with an understanding of the importance this work has in driving sustainable growth through boosting overall supplier diversity & sales by forging strong relationships with clients. Responsibilities - Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
- Arrange business meetings with prospective clients and build long term relationships.
- Promote the company's services while addressing client objectives.
- Develop a growth strategy utilizing the supplier diversity industry as a sales funnel focused on financial gain, economic development, and client satisfaction.
- Build and maintain relationships internally with business unit leaders, and externally with diverse suppliers, networks, and organizations.
- Track and report key performance indicators, dashboard, and scorecard.
- Recommend best practices related to a high performing supplier diversity program.
- Incorporate an innovative approach to ensure inclusion and growth of diverse suppliers as part of client engagement.
- Identify and manage Supplier Diversity events and engagements.
- Plan event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives.
Requirements - Proven business development and sales track record.
- Strong knowledge of supplier diversity, including best practices.
- Proven ability to analyze performance, data, and research.
- Strong negotiation and consensus building skills.
- Experience in planning and project management.
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to speak with clients and community leaders.
- Experience with government work or Government 8(a) business development preferred
