The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for leading the production-related personnel and activities to ensure compliance with strategic initiatives, quality systems, and customer expectations. The Director of Manufacturing acts as a liaison between production and key stakeholders within Vortex. The Director of Manufacturing is dedicated to operational excellence through the demonstration and promotion of servant leadership in support of the Vortex team members.


Success in this role will be defined through the coordination of production activities to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner. Critical to this success will be the ability to lead, coach, develop and support a high performing team of manufacturing leaders that understands and meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results. As the leader of the manufacturing process this person will need to champion continuous improvement, quality initiatives and embrace change management that supports a culture of continuous improvement, applies lean manufacturing principles, determines scale and growth objectives, and relies on industry best practices to achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

The ideal individual will have at least 10 years of demonstrated success in a similar management role within a manufacturing environment. Previous experience building, empowering, and supporting a collaborative work environment focused on the collective whole will be important to the overall success in this role.


This is a salaried exempt position with the exception that the job will require 40+ hours per week. Working fixed days Monday through Thursday, and fixed hours 6:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. with overtime required.
