The ideal fit for the Director of Sales role will be an entrepreneurial self-starter with astute sales acumen and proven success creating and leading a high-impact sales teams. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this position will lead the newest of three core business units at our client and will be charged with building it from the ground up. He or she will develop a sales strategy, define and implement the processes required for success, build and manage world-class transactional sales team, and execute to achieve our client’s aggressive targets. The Director of Sales will have a unique and exciting opportunity to directly impact the future of our client’s business.



Responsibilities of the Director of Sales:



Create a go-to-market strategy for the sales team to meet established goals

Review current sales pipeline, past sales, and future growth opportunities

Provide frontline sales insights into decisions for product and service offerings

Collaborate with sales and production staff to identify key product development areas

Autonomously build pipeline and close deals

Collaborate in the development of the sales processes with Sales Enablement and Marketing

Hire, train, manage and professionally grow a top-flight team to sell our client software's products and services

Lead the Sales Team to meet and exceed quota; support the sales team in growing and closing sales opportunities

Manage pipeline

Provide ongoing sales coaching and mentorship

Cultivate and nurture client relationships to ensure our client’s success

Collaborate with Marketing and its Market Development Specialist team for new lead generation campaigns

Report on business unit performance to senior management



Requirements of the Director of Sales:



5+ years of software and services sales management experience – must have managed and successfully grown a team with a minimum of six people over the past three years

The proven track record for leading a team to grow ARR to a minimum of $5M in one year

Demonstrates deep understanding of selling into the Salesforce ecosystem, and non-profit industry knowledge is strongly preferred

Intermediate to the advanced command of Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce CRM for contact data access, screen sharing technology

Analytical mind with strong quantitative and market analysis skills

Strong problem solver and conceptual thinker

Must have an entrepreneurial spirit; focused on identifying and executing on new business opportunities 

Proven ability to design and execute challenging sales processes

Strong affinity towards business agility

Excellent people and management skills to interact with cross-functional teams and third parties

Experience working closely with marketing and business development to solicit feedback and ensure quality of leads

Demonstrated success working in a collaborative, cross-team capacity – both internally and externally

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
