Description:
Position Summary:

The Senior Mechanical CAD Designer will contribute to the continued development and advancement of the Corindus GRX precision vascular robotic platform designing and creating detail drawings for injected molded parts and assemblies, production assembly and test fixturing, engineering changes in collaboration with Product Engineering mechanical engineers using the latest toolsets and industry leading best practices. You will be an important contributor to the advancement and adoption of the Corindus GRX precision vascular interventional robotic platform. This position will work with new and existing medical device products, generating CAD models, detail designs (in SolidWorks), and creating drawings and BOMs. This is a collaborative opportunity where you will work cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, and external vendors. This is a role well suited for an ambitious professional who is passionate about Mechanical Design, looking for the next step in their career as CAD Designer.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead/contributes in injection-molded part design changes, maintaining CAD models, and creating detail drawings.
  • Lead/contributes in design, modeling, and documentation of production assembly and test fixtures
  • Support Product Engineering needs, design updates and refinements of mechanical parts and electrical harnesses.
  • Construct and manage BOMs and DMRs, prepare and implement ECO's
  • Provide detailed design drawings and models for production level engineering requirements, including component specifications, procurement, inspection documents, and assembly instructions Maintain parts, assemblies, and drawings in Solidworks PDM
  • Qualifications:
    • 7+ year experience in a CAD design and drafting position required; preferably in the Medical Device industry (or other regulated industries)
    • Associates degree in Mechanical Design is highly desired
    • SolidWorks proficiency with demonstrated capability to produce complex parts, assemblies, detailed drawings is required.
    • Understanding of machine design and mechanisms required
    • Experience/understanding of milling and turning, etc. required SolidWorks PDM experience highly desired
    • Experience in tolerance analysis and stack-up required
    • SolidWorks Surfacing experience is desired
    • Microsoft Office experience required
