Job Description:



Role: EDI Developer



Location: Chandler, AZ / Jersey City, NJ / New Orleans, LA / Baltimore, MD / Tampa, FL



Job type: Fulltime



 



Summary:



The EDI Developer performs all the ETL, data maps, and communications needed to deliver EDI for the client. They will closely with the EDI analysts and site IT to ensure no disruptions to operations at the terminals. The EDI Developer will also play a major role in support, by providing monitoring tools and alerts of critical components.



 



Responsibilities:




  • Set up and maintain trading partnership (setup EDI communications, setup EDI partners in translator and TOS, maintain EDI contacts, etc.); develop and test maps for messages in EDI, XML and proprietary formats.

  • Provides subject matter expertise for EDI transactions in terminal operating systems (TOS) to customer support teams, trading partners and development teams.

  • Analyzes business requirements for EDI and develops functional specifications for application developers.

  • Monitor EDI production systems and operations and take appropriate actions to resolve system failures.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve EDI processing issues for internal and external customers.

  • Investigate and re-process EDI files in case of processing errors.

  • Contact trading partners’ EDI group and communication providers to resolve data transmission issues.

  • Identify and resolve root cause of problems in a multi-vendor, multi-provider and multi-component distributed environment.

  • Enhances current monitoring system to track end-to-end processing of EDI messages.

  • Continuously improves EDI infrastructure and technology (workflow, translation, monitoring, version upgrades).

  • Maintain EDI documentation such as work instructions, procedures.

  • Follow the full life cycle for all change request (communications, documentation, approvals).

  • Understands, manages and assures compliance with Customs Border Patrol AMS/ACE regulations, procedures and protocols.



 



Requirements (Education, Experience, Certifications):




  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related business field or equivalent education and work experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in E-commerce and EDI technologies.

  • 5+ years of experience with an EDI translator (IBM/Sterling B2Bi highly preferred).

  • Experienced in MQ Server.

  • Experience developing and maintaining EDI maps; experience administering a production EDI system (IBM/Sterling B2Bi and IBM MQ).

  • Experience in a LINUX environment.

  • Development experience with shell scripts, Perl and other language/tools.

  • Experience in a Windows Server 2008 environment. Development experience with batch scripts, Perl and other Windows language/tools.

  • Experience with data communication protocols (FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP, AS2, FTPS).

  • Development experience using database tools including Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Toad, etc.

  • Requires strong knowledge of EDI and XML including ANSI X12 and/or EDIFACT.
